The orchestras of two cultural oases in the Carolinas provide the concerts for this edition of the program. From Greenville in South Carolina Edvard Tchvizhel returns with that city’s symphony orchestra to perform an autumn-themed program of Bach, Weber, Mendelssohn and Brahms. Then it’s over to Greensboro in the Old North State where another Russian émigré, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, leads the city’s orchestra in a similar program, but with an emphasis on dance in music from Weber, Saint-Saëns, Khatchaturian and Borodin.
